I don’t really have a “story” as such.
But I look back (hindsight is wonderful) about when I have struggled in life and Exercise of any sort has always helped with my mental struggles (yes I overthink).
I found the initial lockdown this year incredibly hard mentally (as did many people), my training just “stopped” and I had zero motivation. Work has just been relentless and if it hadn’t been for such an incredible team of people around me - both at home and in the business I don’t know what my mental health would currently be like.
My wife (Pamela) saw this challenge and jokingly said - here’s one for you. Never one to shirk a challenge, I mulled it over for so long, it was looking like 2021 was going to be the entry!
However - I have pressed the button as I know it will help my mental health. When I run (I’m not a fast runner - I’m a plodder) but my head feels clear and free.
I’m running for MIND so if anyone feels that they would care to donate, that would be so kind. The link is somewhere below.
Hopefully, all the people I’ve press-ganged into agreeing to do some runs in November with me will still be able to. But if not, when you’re out on your own runs - send me some virtual good wishes
